B.M. “Boots” Scheriger, of Big Spring, TX passed away on January 21, 2018 in Big Spring.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Boots was born June 4, 1923 to Andrew J. Scheriger and Clara Pauline (Brandhorst) Scheriger in Centralia, IL. He was raised and educated in Centralia, IL. Boots attended some college courses in Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army from 1944-1945. Boots moved to Odessa in 1946 and was a longtime resident. He worked for A. W. Thompson Drilling, which was bought out by Santa Fe Drilling, from 1946-1987.

In 2015 Boots moved to Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring, TX. He was the last surviving child of Andrew and Clara Scheriger. He was the 6th child of 10 children.

Boots is survived by his two children, his son, Mike Scheriger and wife, Wanona; daughter, Connie Hart; stepson, Everett Kettler of Arkansas; 12 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
