Abel Ruiz

Abel L. Ruiz (Mo), age 67, of Odessa, TX, passed away on March 2, 2018 in Odessa.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Abel was born September 27, 1950 to Joe and Francis Reyes in Eden, TX. He worked as a machinist at Odessa Industrial Casting for 30 years. Abel was a Baptist, a devoted lifelong Dallas Cowboy and Texas Rangers fan. He loved to fish and enjoyed watching his grandkids play in sports.

Abel is preceded in death by his father, Joe Reyes and his brother, Bobby Reyes.

He is survived by his mother, Francis Reyes; daughters, Sandra Phillips, Gloria and husband, Joe Ramon, Adela Hernandez; son, Randall Grice; sisters, Yolanda and husband, Javier Dominguez, Betty and husband, Romero Trevino; brothers, Ray Reyes, Paul Reyes, Fidel Reyes and Adan Reyes; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are as follows: Travis Phillips, Dakota Zarate, Montana Zarate, Michael Hernandez, Justin Thompson and Randall Grice.

Honorary Pallbearer, Domonic Orona.
