Adalberto Escamilla Cobos

Adalberto E. Cobos of Odessa Tx passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at home.

Rosary will be held Monday, June 10^th, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 1:00 PM at St Mary's Catholic Church, he will then be cremated afterwards and will be placed to rest in the Columbarium at a later date.

Adalberto Cobos was born in Sanderson, Tx, to Luis and Rita Cobos on April 23, 1938. He graduated from Sanderson High and was drafted into the Army. Adalberto married Maria Perz on December 21^st, 1958, while on leave.  While in the Army he served in Korea. After being Honorable Discharged, he returned home and became surveyor for GSI that took him to Alaska where he surveyed the North Slope for the Alaskan Pipeline. He was involved in a helicopter crash where he was ultimately the lone survivor. After recovering from his injuries, he relocated his family back to Odessa. Graduated from Odessa College he started a refrigeration company that led him into teaching refrigeration.

Adalberto is survived by his wife of 66 years, Maria Cobos; there three sons, Roland (Veronica), Carlos (Robin), and Tomas Cobos; five grandkids and seven great grandkids.
