Adela Salgado

Adela Marmolejo Salgado, age 79, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went to be with our Lord on January 9, 2019 in Odessa, with her family by her side.

Adela was born March 7, 1939 to Juan and Augustina Marmolejo in Midland, TX. She was educated in Midland schools. On June 16, 1956 she married the love of her life, Andrew "Andy" Salgado of Odessa, TX. Together they had four children; Silda Inglish and her husband George of Midland, TX, Andrew Salgado, Jr. and his wife Darla of Arlington, TX, Belinda Hinkley and her husband Warren of Decatur, TX, Randy Ray Salgado and his wife Lorna of Garland, TX; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Olivia Lujan Salinas and her husband Fortunato of Midland, TX, Mary Pena and her husband, Fernando of Midland and numerous nieces and nephews.

The past 36 years she and Andy owned and operated Andy's Janitorial Services. Before going in to business with her husband, she was employed as a meat wrapper at Everybody's Grocery Store and Odessa Frozen Food.

She was a lifetime active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Some of her favorite things were eating lunch at Furr's Cafeteria every day, playing bingo and slot machines.

Adela is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Guadalupe Marmolejo and Gloria Gamboa and a brother, Manuel Marmolejo.

Rosary will be at 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 12, 2019.

Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, January 13, 2019 and Rosary at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Bernardito Getigan officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be: Christopher Hinkley, Cory Hinkley, Daniel Salgado, Mark Ellwood, Art Lujan, Jr., Louis Villa, Robert Cobos and Demetrio Baeza.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Angel Gamboa, Fortunato Salinas and Fernando Pena.
