Pastor Albert was born on October 26,1951 to Guadalupe Alvarez and Josephina Ortega Alvarez in Pecos, Texas. He attended school and graduated from Pecos High School. It was during that time where he met the “love of his life” Virginia Alvarez. The were married on April 5, 1971, in Pecos, Texas where he began his little family. He had four children that he loved tremendously. He coached his children in various sports. He worked for 22 years at Penzoil Sulfer Mine. He was a long-distance runner and held a record for the mile run in Pecos high school for so many years. He competed in many races. Many would see him train as he ran throughout Pecos. Albert loved playing guitar making beautiful memories with his family. He moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico with his family in 1986. Playing guitar and singing eventually lead him to singing for the Lord. In 1994, he became the Worship Pastor for Oasis Fellowship. He was a father and a pastor to many always was encouraging and teaching many of the congregation through the years. In 2005, he became Senior Pastor as he lead so many to Christ and performed countless marriages, funerals, and baptisms. He became the Spanish Pastor and Administrator. He loved his Spanish Congregation and touched so many lives. We thank the Spanish congregation for everything. He definitely left his legacy at Oasis Church. Pastor Albert’s love, compassion, and the fellowship he had will live forever with his family and friends and his church. We will miss you always and we just were not ready to say goodbye. We will say “See you later.”
