Alfonso (Choncho) Dominguez, 74 years old, joined his heavenly father on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, in Odessa, TX.
Alfonso was born in Pecos, TX, to Jose Maria and Demesia Dominguez on June 20, 1949. He became a golden gloves boxer at the age of 16, and continued till he was in his late 20’s. He went on to get his GED and started his working journey at Quality Body Works for 32 years as a mechanic/repair man after attending Odessa trade school. Alfonso later married his wife of 36 years, Adelia (Gomez) Dominguez, from Odessa, TX, on December 24, 1988. They opened their business, The Spring Water Store in 2010 where he delivered ice and water to the community while making friends along the way.
Alfonso is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Maria and Demesia Dominguez; his brothers, Rodolfo (Rolo) Dominguez, Jose (Shaggy) Dominguez, Ector (Pelon) Dominguez; his sister, Estella Dominguez Rios; niece, Diana D. Rankin; nephew, Leroy Lechuga; his brothers-in-law, Arturo (Snyder) Herrera, Reynoldo (Rey) Quiroz, Santos Larez, Jesse Flores, Victor Alvarado, Ramon S. Gomez Jr.; sister-in-law, Belen Lopez; and mother and father-in-law, Ramon and Merced Gomez.
Alfonso is survived by his wife; Adelia Dominguez; children, Joel Alfonso Dominguez and wife Shannon Dominguez, Christopher (Jason) Gomez and wife Sarahi Gomez, Alphonso (Chacho) Dominguez, Eysela Rose Dominguez, Aaron Alfonso Dominguez and wife Marissa Rubio Dominguez; brother, Antonio (Tony) Dominguez & Criselda; sisters, Consuelo (Connie) Quiroz, Delma Dominguez, Virginia (Virgie) Herrera, Susanna (Susie) Dominguez Alvarado; brother-in-law Marcos Rios Jr.; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Valentina (Tina) Flores, Ilda Sanchez, Virginia Quiroz Dominguez, and Delma Longoria; and tons of nieces and Nephews, Great nieces and nephews, Friends and loved ones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Morales, Freddy Huertas, Albert Dominguez, Nathaniel Guzman, Gilbert Espinoza, and Christopher (Chris) Flores.
The family of Alfonso (Choncho) Dominguez would like to thank everyone for the prayers, the love, gifts, and support given in this time of need. Thank you to Medical Center Hospital staff, MCH Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation staff, all of Encompass staff, and the doctors who have taken care of him. Choncho was loved by so many people. He was an amazing son, husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He was a quiet gentle person with the biggest heart who knew no stranger.
