Alice Jeffers

Alice Kathryn Hink Jeffers, age 84, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010 in Odessa.

She was born June 5, 1926 in Dover Arkansas to Clara Mae Moore Hink and Charles Hink. After high school in Dover, she attended North Texas State University in Denton, Texas where she received a Bachelors and Masters degree in Education. She taught school in Iraan, Texas for three years then came to Odessa where she met and married Sam Jeffers, Jr. in 1956. She retired in 1991, from Permian High School, after 43 years of teaching. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Odessa.

Alice is survived by three sons, Sam Jeffers, III, John Charles Jeffers and David K. Jeffers eight grandchildren, Madeline, Hannah, Adam, Macy, Allison, MacLean, Luke, and Joel Jeffers.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Gravesides services are scheduled for 2:30 PM Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, followed by Memorial Services at 3:30 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bob Sams officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4901 Maple, Odessa, Texas 79762.
