Aline Griffis

Aline Marie Thomas Griffis, 83, was born April 25, 1934 in Sundown, Texas. She passed from her earthly life on July 12, 2017.

Aline was one of 8 children born in the family. On December 13, 1963 she married Eldon "Channie" Griffis in Odessa, Texas. They were married over 53 years. She worked outside the home for a few years at Lamar Elementary School, but she spent most of her time raising kids and working on and decorating the house. She was a very innovative decorator.
Aline was mom to four children Pat Hestand, and husband Doug, Joey Currier, and wife Kim, Mark Griffis, and wife Kathie, and Mike Griffis, and girlfriend Allison. She was Mamaw to Jason, Jennifer, Stephanie, Dela, Joy, Jared, Savannah, Paige and Abbie. She had 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one beloved sister, Carolyn Polasek of Ropesville, Texas. She was loved very much by anyone that knew her and will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 9:00 am, Friday, July 14, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Currier officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 am, following the service at Resthaven Cemetery, 4616 N. Big Spring St., Midland, TX.
