Allen Bertrand

Allen James Bertrand, 74, of Odessa, Texas. Allen was born on July 21, 1939 in Basile, Louisiana. He passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014. He was the son of Addie and Lyanesse Bertrand. He married Yvonne Smith in September of 1957.

Allen worked in the oil field most of his adult life. He retired from E. L. Farmer in 2005.

He leaves behind his wife, Yvonne, five children Darrel Bertrand of McKinney, TX, Donald Bertrand of Sherman, TX, Chris Bertrand of Dallas, TX, Melisa Gill of Breckenridge, TX and Addie Faye Floyd of Odessa, TX, two brothers, Merlin Bertrand of Hennessey, OK and Ray Bertrand of Longmont, CO. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.

Allen is preceded in death by his brother J.C. Bertrand in Farmington, NM and both his parents Addie Bertrand Fruge and Lyanesse Bertrand.

Visitation will be Monday, June 2, 2014 from 6:00 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Clark Racca, officiating.

Allen will be missed by his family. Allen was a loving, caring husband, father and grandfather.
