Alta Arvella Day, age 93, of Midland, TX passed away on October 2, 2015 in Midland.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, October 5, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Woodlridge of Little Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Graham, TX officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Alta was born on June 10, 1922 to Thomas Earl Clark and Annie Alice Cox Clark in Gomez, TX. She was one of 15 children and she cared for her family after her mother passed at an early age. She married Lawrence Wesley Day on October 31, 1947 in Odessa, TX. They were married for40 years, until his passing in 1987. She lived in Odessa for 59 years. She and her husband owned and operated Day's Restaurant and Drive-in for 20 years before he went into the accounting business. She was a homemaker and attended Primitive Baptist Church. She was an artist and enjoyed quilting.
Her loving husband, Lawrence Wesley Day and her son, Lawrence (Larry) Day Jr., precede Alta in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Cathy and her husband Terry Hoak of Midland, TX, Deborah Holley of Galveston, TX, Candy Day of Weatherford, TX, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
Pallbearers will be as follows: Mandi Holley, Brent Hoak, Wade Hoak, Ryan Holley, Jason Day and Cody Shifflet.
