Amelia L. Romero, 71, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009 in Odessa.

She was born November 17, 1937 in Cuchillo Parado, Mexico to Damaso Levario and Martina Torres Levario. She was raised in Mexico and married Manuel A. Romero on June 12, 1953 in Chihuahua, Mexico. She was formally educated in learning disciplines and was a devoted member of St. Josephs Catholic Church for over 30 years. She was a proud Cursillista DE COLORES The family is comforted by her overwhelming faith in the Lord who now holds her in his arms. She left that beautiful example to us all. We will forever keep you with us Mama. Its been a privilege to have you as our guardian angel.

She is survived by the love of her life, Manuel Romero of Odessa. She has four daughters, Dolores Benavides and husband, Sylvia Urias and husband, Veronica Alvarado and husband, and her loving caretaker, Araceli Romero, all of Odessa. Her four sons, Manuel Romero, Jr. Rene Romero, Elco Romero, all of Odessa and the late Guadalupe Romero. She was also the proud grandmother of seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family would like to extend their gratitude to her attending physicians and Home Hospice of Odessa.

Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Friday August 7, 2009 at St. Josephs Catholic Church with Father Joseph Uecker officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Santana Urias, Daniel Urias, Alan Benavides, Manuel Romero, Jr., Elco Romero, Rene Romero, Christian Romero, and Elco Romero, Jr. Honorary Pallberes are Ivan and Valerie Alvarado and Viviana and Erica Salazar.
