Andrea Priest

Andrea Leach Priest, age 73, of Midland, passed away January 11, 2012 in Midland.

She was born October 6, 1938 in Wellington, Texas to William Leach and Oletha Vaughan Leach. She grew up in Houston, and attended Texas Womens University where she received her Bachelor degree. She got her Masters degree at Texas AI in Kingsville, Texas. She married John Dalton Priest in 1959 in Houston. They moved to San Antonio where she taught school 26 years at Northside ISD and 12 years at San Antonio ISD. She retired from teaching after 38 years, and moved to Georgetown, Texas for 5 years before moving to Midland to be near her daughter. She was a member of Sunset Ridge Church of Christ and TEA. She loved to travel and play canasta. Some of her proudest moments were being Mimi to her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Dalton Priest.

Survivors include her son, Andrew John Priest and wife Janis of Houston her daughter, Amy Priest Youngblood and husband Thomas of Midland her brother, William A. Leach and wife Carol of Arlington and her grandchildren, Andrew, Corbin, and Dalton Priest, and Jack, Sam and Luke Youngblood.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 16, 2012 in Sunset Ridge Church of Christ in San Antonio, with Roy Osborne officiating.

The family requests memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.
