Annie Frances Everett, age 89, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Odessa.
She was born July 5, 1922 in Union, Mississippi to Arthur Lee Cleveland and Mildred Annie Frances Everett, age 89, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Odessa.
She was born July 5, 1922 in Union, Mississippi to Arthur Lee Cleveland and Mildred Frances Mapp Cleveland. On October 12, 1943, Frances married James Lloyd Everett, Sr. in Union and then he was assigned to a station in Monterey, California. They stayed there until he was shipped out. Frances came to stay with Lloyds parents in Artesia, New Mexico. Barbara was born there and two years later Jim was born in Odessa where they made their home.
Frances was a member of the Friendship Class of First Methodist Church. Through fifty years of love these ladies shared their lives with one another. Another dear friend for over sixty years is Ada Gunkel.
Frances was a homemaker who loved caring for family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, quilting, needlework and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd in 1975.
Survivors include daughter, Barbara Pope and son Jim and daughterinlaw, Beverli Everett, all of Odessa grandchildren, Matthew Pope and wife Dilke and great granddaughter, Britney of Odessa, Michael Pope of Austin, Texas and Mark Pope of Odessa, granddaughter, Carrie and husband Randy Blakely, great granddaughter, Brittney Barcena and husband Tyler of Odessa, granddaughter, Christi Shawell and husband Ragan and great grandchildren Riley and Cade of Houston, Texas, Bailey Timmons of Odessa and Kelli Blakely of San Marcos, Katy Barnes of Florida beloved brother, Jim Cleveland of Albany, Texas and nieces and nephews, Jim Cleveland, Jr. and wife Judy of Seattle, Washington Martha Munos and husband Ronnie of Houston, David Cleveland and wife Monica of Albany, Faye Walker of Memphis, Tennessee, Bettye Byars and husband Tom of Batesville, Mississippi, Margie Walker of Memphis, Jeannie Neville and husband Robert of Memphis, and many great nieces and nephews and friends of the heart.
Visitation with the family is scheduled for 57 PM Friday, January 20, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2011 at Highland United Methodist Church with Reverend Dot Lee officiating.
The family requests memorials go to Hospice House of Odessa. Our stay there was short, but it was a loving place to usher a loved one home.
