Anthony Ray Olvera, 40, of Odessa, TX passed away on July 30, 2021, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born in Hobbs, NM to Andreia Neher and Noel Sanchez Olvera on May 04, 1981. Raised in Sunnyside, WA. He married his “Babeh Babeh,” Amanda Olvera on September 08, 2018, in Midland, TX. He worked as a Pipe Yard Supervisor for Moore Pipe, LLC. He was involved in the children’s ministry serving and teaching fourth and fifth graders at Crossroads Church, and he was a football coach for the PBYFL Colts.
Anthony was a family man. He loved his kids immensely; always present at soccer games, school functions, family holidays, and BBQ’s. He was head over heels in love with his wife; always telling her he loved her, dancing with her in the kitchen, cooking with her and scooping her up every chance he got to show her affection. They spent the last 10 years of their lives blending their families, traveling and loving each other. He loved fishing every chance he got. Even getting the soccer kids experienced at baiting hooks in between games. If he had to choose between his wife and fishing though- well just ask Brad Paisley how hard that decision was (“Well, I’m gonna miss her” playing in the background.) He had a huge sense of humor and an even bigger heart. Anthony truly never met a stranger. Anthony also loved football and played with the Knights, SkyForce, and West Texas Pride. Not to mention the early days of Sunday afternoon pick-up games at Permian High School. Seahawks fan for life.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Amanda Olvera of Odessa; two sons: Rylan Olvera and Ethan Marin of Odessa; four daughters: Analise Olvera, Savanna Olvera, Ava-Marie Olvera and Anysa Mata of Odessa. Father: Noel Olvera of Odessa; Brothers: Ricky Olvera of Odessa and Noel Adan Olvera of Seattle, WA; Sister: Angie Olvera of Las Cruces, NM. And numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, teammates and extended family who loved him dearly.
Anthony is preceded in death by his Mother Andreia Lynne Olvera, Grandmothers: Bonita Frataccia and Lydia Sanchez; Grandfather: Edward Dyer.
