A.O. Workman, age 90, of Odessa, TX, passed away on April 4, 2016 in Odessa.
A.O. was born October 17, 1925 in Mannford, Oklahoma to Elvie and Ida Workman. He quit school at a very young age to work and help his mother. January 6, 1944, at the age of 19, A.O. joined the United States Navy. He served his country for two years and was honorably discharged May 10, 1946. In 1953 A.O. met the love of his life, Eva Crowley. They were married shortly after. In 1955 they moved to Texas where he worked as a Truck Driver. They both became Evangelist's, traveling extensively, preaching the word of the Lord, until Eva passed in 1994.
A.O. is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Eva Workman; daughter, Sharon Davis; son, Tim Workman; both his parents and all four of his brothers.
He is survived by his son, Jerry Ruby and wife Brenda of McMinnville, Oregon; daughter, Debbie Covey and husband Jackie of Odessa; grandchildren, Sherrie and Paul McColm, Deanna Stepp, Rebecca and Brandon Stapleton, Steve and Sherry Davis, Tina and Glenn Patton, Michael and Sherri Davis, Bobby Workman, Christopher Workman, Christy and Kent DeArmond and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren that he loved very much.
A Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, April 11, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Craig DeArmond officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
