Arthur Israel

Arthur Israel, age 65, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 in Odessa, Texas.

Arthur was born in Pecos, Texas on March 20, 1947 to Jack and Pauline IsraelGoolsby.

Arthur grew up in Lamesa, Texas where he met and married the love of his life Cynthia Williams on September 10, 1977. He worked in the oil field all his life. He was an operator for Eastern Well Service for 8 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Army, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.

His siblings are Pat and Shirley NapperGithens, Tom and Barbara Martin, James and Gertie Childress, Albert and Nikki Israel, Clint and Diane Blair, Mark and Louise Porter, James and Gina Goolsby, Jimmy and Mary Goolsby, Bud and June Goolsby, and LC Goolsby.

Arthur is preceded in death by his father, Jack Israel stepfather, Herman Goolsby mother, Pauline IsraelGoolsby sister, Wanda Ruthie Batchelor and brother, Loyd Israel.

His is survived by his children, daughter, Kristi IsraelMcClure and her husband, Wade McClure son, William Israel and his wife, Serina Wimberley and stepdaughter, Shelly Gardernhire and her partner, Tiffany Perucca. As well as his granddaughters, Michelle Landreth, Shaylee Perucca, Justyce Stoner, Audree McKenzie and Karlee Israel and grandsons, D.J. Landreth, Jaydn Stoner and Joseph Kye Israel.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel and will be officiated by Bro. Dewey Blivins. Internment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
