Arturo Munoz Jr.

Arturo Munoz Jr, age 67, of Odessa, Texas passed away peacefully at MCH Odessa on November 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Leaving behind a legacy of love, humor and generosity. 

Arturo was born in Stanton, TX, to Arturo and Socorro Munoz. He lived in Pecos, TX until he was 10 years old when he moved to Odessa where he resided the rest of his days. He was a proud graduate of Ector High School. 

Arturo began his career in the oilfield as a roustabout but found his true calling in the printing industry, following in the footsteps of his father Arturo Munoz Sr, who was also a printer. 

In his free time, Arturo was a talented musician and drummer, playing in numerous local bands throughout his life. He took great pride in always volunteering to do the sound checks to ensure the band sounded their best. 

Arturo is preceded in death by his father, Arturo Munoz Sr; his father and mother-in-law, Daniel and Frances Gonzales; as well as his brother-in-law, Ruben Gonzales. 

Arturo was also a devoted husband, father and grandfather. 

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Celia Munoz; their two children, Arturo (Inez) Munoz Ill and Diana Molina. He also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren, Maya, Logan, Jaxon, Liam and Maddie. Arturo is also survived by his mother, Socorro Mesa; brothers, Joe Munoz, Danny (Josie) Munoz, and Dr. Rick (Georgina) Munoz along with numerous nieces and nephews who hold him in high esteem. 

The family would like to express their gratitude towards the nurses and doctors that cared for him at Medical Center Hospital.

 Pallbearers will be Logan Munoz, Joe Munoz Jr, Andrew Garner, Steven Munoz, Armando Pulido, Adolfo Castillo with honorary pallbearers Jaxon Molina and Liam Munoz.

 Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday December 5, 2024, with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 PM, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home 6801 E Business 20, Odessa, TX 79762. 

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 6, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home 6801 E Business 20 Odessa, TX 79762. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
