Aurora Bersosa Larrea passed from this life on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Parks Senior Living. She was born on February 24, 1931, in Balmorhea, Texas to the late Elauterio and Matiana Bersosa. She was a Christian Catholic who loved the lord. Reciting the Rosary for family unity and world peace was a daily commitment Aurora made to her heavenly father. Aurora’s beautiful smile welcomed all who encountered her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a giving and generous human being who opened her home to many over her lifespan. Aurora was married to Faustino P. Larrea for 69 wonderful years prior to his death on August 10, 2017.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Faustino P. Larrea; daughter, Adela Larrea Vasquez; grandson, Nathan Larrea Davis; parents, Elauterio Bersosa and Matiana Hernandez Bersosa; sisters, Elvira Fuentes, Ofelia Fuentes, Feliciana (China) Hill; and brothers, Selso (Chino) Bersosa, Moises Bersosa, Elauterio Bersosa, Jr., Alfredo Bersosa, Benjamin Bersosa.
Those left to cherish Aurora’s memories are her daughter, MaryAnn Larrea McCoy (husband, Bill McCoy); sons, Faustino B. Larrea, Jr; Danny Larrea Norton (wife, Sabra); son-in-law, Gilbert Vasquez; nephew, Selso Fuentes; sister, Luz Hernandez; grandchildren, Monica Vasquez Tschauner (Chris), Patrick Vasquez (Joanna), Allison Larrea Peters (Chris), Bria Larrea; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Tschauner, Christian Tschauner, Cade Tschauner, Kylie Larrea, Sophia Larrea Peters, Genevieve Vera Vasquez, Elijah McQueen, Ethan McQueen and Madison Norton.
Viewing will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022, with the Recitation of the Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 11:00 AM, with Father Frank Chavez officiating. Burial will follow the funeral mass at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Parks Senior Living for the wonderful care and love that was shown and provided to Mrs. Larrea during her stay. Also, a sincere thank you to the staff of Home Hospice for their comforting care of our beloved mother and grandmother.
