Baldomero "Shorty" Fuentes

Baldomero “Shorty” Fuentes, 84 was called Home by the Good Lord on Friday, February 24, 2023, in Odessa, Texas from his earthly home to join in Everlasting Peace in Paradise.  He was born on Sunday, February 27, 1938, in Balmorhea, Texas to Crispin “CC” Fuentes and Rita Natividad Fuentes.

Shorty always marched to the beat of his own drum; he loved watching football, had a love/hate relationship with the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed watching Tiger Woods, loved being around family and enjoyed working on his yard. He worked in the oilfield for many years while raising his children.  He never met a stranger, had a silly sense of humor, and would do anything for his family. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife, Mary Fuentes; children, Esther & Eddie Gallegos, Lily & Vince Smith, Bobby & Liz Fuentes, Corina & Leonard Valdez and Annabell & Joe Jiminez; 11 grandchildren, Marina, Valerie, Robert, Adam, Alex, Rachel, Caleb, Zachery, Taylor, Briana & Mileena; 17 great grandchildren; as well as his siblings, Alifonsa, Agripina, Fala,  Eralda, Velma & Henry, along with several nieces and nephews that he loved spending time with.

Shorty is proceeded in death by his parents, CC & Rita Fuentes; sister, Elisa Young; and brothers, Rufus Fuentes & Gene Fuentes.

Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. A Recitation of the Rosary will be Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 7:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 3, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
