Barbara was born in Brownfield, Texas to R. E. "Dick" and Ima Lightfoot Hodges on September 18, 1939. On December 22, 1956, she married the love of her life, Dennis Beadles, in Brownfield. They were married for more than 55 years, until he passed in 2012.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Kay Wright and husband Mike, of Burns Flat, Oklahoma; son, Steve Beadles and wife Donna, of Townsend, Ontario; sister, June Thompson of Paonia, Colorado. She loved her seven grandchildren, Nathan Wright and wife Kristi, Jeanna Wright, Jason Wright and wife Kami, Lisa Lickers and husband Dave, Brad Hiseler and wife Kristi, Emily Beadles, and Stephanie Beadles. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren, Asher, Kayden, Dax, Carley, Brielle, Briggs, Moxie, Slade, and Amelia.
Barbara loved people and always enjoyed meeting new friends. She was known for her joyful laugh and was always ready for new adventures. She developed a love for the beach and ocean when she and Dennis lived in Corpus Christi for many years, and her favorite way to exercise was water aerobics. She enjoyed traveling to Canada to visit her son and his family, as well as trips to Colorado to visit her sister and family. She enjoyed many years visiting daily with her sisters, Joyce and FayNell, in Odessa after she and Dennis retired there. She loved to study the Bible and teach it to others, especially children. Through the years she and Dennis were members of several churches where they served faithfully as they moved from city to city. They both loved Jesus and wanted others to know him too. In her younger years she was involved in Child Evangelism Fellowship and would often hold Backyard Bible Studies for neighborhood kids. Barbara has many nieces and nephews who will miss her laughter and support.
