Barbara Ann Beaty, 91 years of age met her Lord face to face on February 4, 2025 in Odessa, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, February 8 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Young of First Baptist officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Barbara was born on November 29, 1933, in McLean, TX to Herman and Virgie Robertson. Barbara Beaty made the decision to follow her Lord and Savior at a very early age.
Barbara went to school at Bronte, TX. She married Herman Gerald Beaty on June 14, 1952 in Bronte, TX. In 1953 they moved to Ft. Sill in OK then Ft. Bliss in El Paso, TX where Gerald served in the Army. In 1955 they moved to Pampa, TX and in 1960 to Goldsmith, TX. One year later they moved to Odessa where they stayed till a job transfer in 1975 took them to Seminole, TX till retirement. After 42 years, Gerald retired with Phillips Petroleum then moved back to Odessa to enjoy their retirement. They were married 62 years before his passing in 2014. Barbara worked as a music secretary at Second Baptist Church in Odessa, TX, a secretary to the Minister of Music (Rev. Don McCall) at Crescent Park Baptist Church in Odessa, TX and then as a receptionist at a physicians office in Seminole, TX, Barbara loved music. She could make a room come alive with her piano playing. She loved to play her piano anywhere she could and everyone enjoyed the musical talent that God had given her. Hymns were her specialty and played the piano and organ in churchs they attended. Barbara also enjoyed scrapbooking. Her photo albums are exceptional. She was truly gifted with knowing information about people, family and anything interesting and it is all journaled in her albums. The family will enjoy the pages of history and memories for years to come.
She is survived by her son Gerald Ray and wife Roxann Beaty of Odessa, TX; son Bryan Keith Beaty of Universal City, TX; grandkids, Michelle and Wesley Rose of Ft. Worth; Sarah Rose Beaty of Schertz, TX; Timothy Kayton Beaty of Schertz, TX; great grandkids, Daniella (Dani) Lea Beaty of Schertz, TX and Raelynn Beaty Rose of Ft. Worth, TX.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father Herman and Virgie Robertson, her beloved husband of 62 years, Gerald Beaty, her grandson Daniel Elijah Beaty; her sister Sue Jackson.
Memorial may be given to The Door of Hope Mission.
The family of Barbara wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses, Med Techs, health assistance and staff at Brookdale Assisted Living, Madison Medical Resort and Interim Hospice for all the care they gave to Barbara.
