Barbara Jean Cochran, 74, of Odessa, passed away on Friday, October 11th in Odessa, Texas.
A viewing will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home - 6801 E I-20BL, Odessa, Texas 79762.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Pastors Jared Cannon and Timothy Contreras of Bible Centered Fellowship will be officiating. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Barbara Jean Cochran with her twin sister, Beverly, was born in Bronte, Texas on Sunday, February 19, 1950. She attended school in Eden, Texas. She married her childhood love, Johnny Dale Cochran, on Saturday September 30, 1967. They moved to Odessa in 1969-70.
Barbara worked at Wilson's Corner for around 10 years as a cashier/cook in the 80s and drove a red Jeep snow cone truck in the early 90s.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Dale Cochran; her foster parents, Otto Jhanke and Anne Bingham of Eden; sisters, Beverly Hickman of Big Lake and Sherry Gray of Ft Stockton; brothers, Terry Burrus of Denver, CO and Jerry Craig.
Barbara is survived by her 3 children, Johnny Dale Cochran II of Odessa with 5 children and 7 grandchildren, Mary "Kathy" Redmon with husband Edy Redmon of Odessa with 4 children and 6 grandchildren, and Audra Horton with husband Michael Horton of Odessa and 5 children; sister, Berrneatta N. Conley with husband Steven Conley of Bakersfield, CA; brother, Eldon Wayne McCullough of Okay, OK.
