Barbara Joyce Lilly Davidson, 84, of Odessa, TX, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 21, 2024, in Odessa.
Visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Sid Driggers from Billy Hext Church of Christ, officiating. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Barbara was born in Mercedes, TX, to Jesse Jerome Lilly and Annie Mae Wallace Lilly on July 11, 1939. She went to Harlingen High School, in Harlingen, TX. Barbara married the love of her life Teddie Troice Davidson on May 31, 1961, in Odessa, TX. She graduated from Southwest Texas State University. Being the middle child in her family, she was keenly aware of the challenges that came with the opportunity for her and her four siblings to attend college, so she worked hard and graduated with her degree in three years. She was a schoolteacher for ECISD and Odessa Christian School for a total of 39 years.
Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Jessie; mother, Annie Mae; husband, Teddie; brothers, Wally, Ken and spouse Susan; sister, Ann Eacono and her spouse Salvatore Eacono; and brother-in-law, Jimmie Davidson.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Tina and spouse James Clark from Edmond, Oklahoma; sons, Farron and spouse Kristi Davidson, and Jay Davidson from Odessa, Texas; sister Gail Lilly Hill; brother-in-law, Bobbie Jernigan; sisters-in-law, Nancy Jernigan and Beverly Lilly; six grandsons, Joel Clark, Jared Clark and spouse Sheri, Jordan Clark, Bradley Davidson and spouse Kristen, Kaleb Davidson, and Chase Davidson; five great grandchildren, Kylie, Ryker, Aspyn, Cayne, and Scarlet; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joel Clark, Jared Clark, Jordan Clark, Bradley Davidson, Kaleb Davidson, and Chase Davidson.
Barbara’s family conveys their deep appreciation to all who have loved her so well, in the past and at this time as well. The joyful and loving memories of her, give great comfort and we rejoice that she fought the “Good Fight,” proclaiming right to the end, on a daily basis that she knew Jesus loved her and she loved Him.
