To Celebrate the Life of Barbara Elliott, age 72, of Odessa, she went to be with her Lord on September 1, 2014.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 68 PM at Sunset Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 4 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Bartlett, Hospice Chaplain officiating.
Barbara was born on December 1, 1941 to the late Robert and Mabel Walls Souders in Bakersfield, CA. She grew up and went to school in Bakersfield, CA. She married Jim Earl Benson in Medesto, CA., having a child, Greta. After a divorce, she met and married Bill Ray in Bakersfield, CA which they had 3 children, Mary, Billy and Hank. After Bill passed away, Barbara married Stan Earl Elloitt in Tahoe, CA. They moved from Bakersfield to Odessa in 1980, moved to Brownwood until moving back to Odessa in 2005.
Barbara continued her education and received an Associates Degree in 2005 from Texas State Technical College in Computer Science. She continued her education by attending UTPB, majoring in Accounting and changed her major to Art.
Barbaras mission in Life was to do the best I can for my family by giving them the best values I can, getting a better education and taking one day at a time. Her hobbies were travel, sewing, art and crochet.
Barbara is preceded in death by husbands, Bill Ray and Stan Elliott, her son, Billy Wayne Ray, siblings, Nova Grady, Larry Souders, grandson, Christopher Ray.
She is survived by children Greta Vaughan of Gardendale, Mary Williamson of Campti, LA, Hank Ray of Odessa, Siblings Mary Flowers, Erma Millheim, Lois Slone, Robert Souders and Earnie Souders, 10 grandchildren, 19 greatgrandchildren and a greatgreatgrandchild on the way, and many more who considered her mother and Mema.
