Barbara Kevil

Barbara Vello Kevil was born February 22, 1943, to Charles Albert and Essie Mae Haller. She married the love of her life Wilber Ray Kevil on June 19, 1959. She passed away peacefully in her home with the love of her life beside her on Monday, December 2, 2024. They had recently celebrated their 65th Anniversary with a renewal of their vow’s ceremony. They had three amazing children Laurie Chambers, Steven Kevil and wife Joelle Kevil, and Cindy Goins and husband Brent Goins. 8 grandkids, 31 great grandkids and two on the way and 4 great-great grandkids. 

Barbara was known by many names Jelly, Mom, Mema, Mawmaw and Mollymaw. She was also a mother to all. Barbara was loved by every person in her life. She was definitely the type of person that never met a stranger. If she bumped into someone anywhere in public, they were sure to know her life story and vice versa before they parted ways. She absolutely loved her family and considered everyone she met a part of it. She never looked down on anyone no matter what mistakes they made, she just loved them harder and helped them through it. The person she loved the most and that loved her the most was her amazing husband, Wilber. (SO, ALL OF US THAT BRAGGED SHE LOVED US MORE WERE ALL WRONG). They traveled together for many years before they finally settled down in their home. Barbara loved butterflies and earrings. One thing I know for sure is that everyone that knew her has a story of how she helped them in one way or another. We are all going to miss her hugs and hearing her say I love you berry berry much.

She leaves behind multiply nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and caregivers as she takes the next journey of her life. She will be looking down on us all and taking care of us from above.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 9, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas. Al Wise will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be Craig Beck, Jaden Kevil, David Beck, Dylan Beck, Brandon Gardener and Johnny Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be Bailey Haller and Blake Haller.
