Barbara Looper

Barbara Ruth Looper, 80, of Odessa, passed away November 11, 2012 after living a fulfilling life, despite of her well known handicaps.

The younger of two children, Barbara was born in Fort Worth, TX, July 8, 1932 to William and Alta Dossey.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She graduated from Poly High School in Fort Worth, TX. She moved to Odessa in 1959, she loved the outdoors, loved to travel, working in the yard and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved the holidays and her sweets.

Barbara cared about her community and believed in giving back. She was active in many organizations Beta Sigma Phi, Permian Basin Rehab Stroke Club, Pink Ladies at MCH. She was a member at Grace Christian Fellowship.

Barbara was preceded in death by both of her parents and sister Colleen Vinson. She is survived by her three sons, Randy Echols and wife Cathi, Kie Echols and wife Cathy, Bret Echols and wife Terri grandchildren Lindsay and Gavin Sheaffer Brooke and Tim Rapp Brenton Echols Alesha Echols Katie and Elizabeth Goetz Ally Echols great grandchildren Kaleb Goetz Ava Rapp, Colin Rapp Laurel Sheaffer, Marissa Sheaffer niece Kimberly Hamilton and daughter Brittany.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 6801 E. Business 20 in Odessa, TX.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday November 14, 2012, Sunset Memorial Chapel with Pastor Clark Racca of Grace Christian Fellowship officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorial may be directed to Permian Basin Rehab Center or Easter Seals.
