Barbara Mccarty

Barbara Gene McCarty, 63 years young, of Odessa, Texas went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2014.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 1st from 58pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa,Texas. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Sunset Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, April 2nd at 10am with the Rev. Owen Sharp officiating. Graveside services will follow.

Barbara was born in Olton, TX to Allen Betty Yandell on July 12, 1950. She married Don McCarty on October 30, 1987. Barbara graduated from New Mexico Jr. College in 1991. She enjoyed her career as a registered nurse in Labor Delivery at Medical Center Hospital for over 20 years.

Barbara is preceded in death by her father Allen Yandell and her daddy Frank McCurter.

Barbara is survived by her husband Don McCarty, her children Kenneth and Lori Highfill, Angela Kirk, Theresa Nordman and Kathy Struble, and her mother Betty Bishop. Brothers Jerry Rita McCurter, Thomas McCurter, Earnest McCurter, Tim Lottie McCurter, Kevin Shelly McCurter. Sisters Kathy Roger Gwin, Ellen Steve Stafford, Julie Hargis. Aunts Lou Garrett, Pat Dearl Hunt, Irene Dewayne Callahan, Mae Slater, MaryAnn Jay Dean Brothers, Fayrene Leon Vaughn. Grandchildren: Jason McCarty, Melissa Simpson, Tabbath McCarty, Wren Highfill, Crystal Snow, Brett Highfill, Tessa Martin, Joshua Highfill, Whitney Nordin, Allen Nordman, Charidy, Casey, Chase Kirk, and 15 great grandchildren, and 28 nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be Allen Nordman, Christopher Nordman, Jonathan McCurter, Billy Paul McCurter, Charlie McCurter, and Tim McCurter.

As a celebration of life, dinner services will follow at Barbara Dons home.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to: Lori, Mike, Angela, Nori from hospice her Labor Delivery family at M.C.H., and Carlos for helping build her dream kitchen.
