Barbara Ann Dickson Rogers, age 81, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on December 5, 2018 in Odessa, Texas.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, December 7, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 8, 2019 with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell of Home Hospice and St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiating. Graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Barbara was born in Bard, California to Cassie Bill and Annie Cleo Dickson on June 22, 1937. She married James Madison Rogers on November 17, 1956 in Rotan, Texas. She worked as a bookkeeper for Chesapeake Interiors and Drexel Heritage Furniture Store for many years.
She was a member of Stonegate Odessa and enjoyed serving in the community throughout her lifetime in the local church as well as with Ector County Independent School District, Food 2 Kids, Honor Our Troops, Mission Odessa, and Permian Basin Mission Center. She was a gracious lady who loved the Lord and people deeply. Her family and friends enjoyed her delightful sense of humor, experienced her gentleness, grace, joy and hospitality.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, James Madison Rogers, and parents Cassie Bill and Annie Cleo York Dickson.
Barbara is survived by daughters, Deborah Lynne Lieb, husband Mark and Tammy Rene'e Rogers of Odessa; five brothers, Lawrence M. & Bobbie Dickson of Rotan; Rev. William Henry & Beulah Dickson and Billy Ray & Pam Dickson of Hawley; Elbert Dickson of Sweetwater; Thomas Dickson of Roby, and sister Rosemary Donham and husband, J, of Roby.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Gary Dickson, Heath Dickson, Jason Dickson, Michael Dickson, Nick Dickson, Pat Dickson, Scott Dickson, Shawn Donham and Todd Donham and son-in-law, Mark Lieb.
