Ben H May, Sr. age 90, of Midland, TX, passed away on December 17, 2017.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Holley, Sr. officiating.
Ben was born to Susie and Abe May on September 22, 1927, and married his loving spouse, Anna Doss May, on February 1, 1985 in Reno, Nevada. Ben worked in the oilfield trucking industry for 70 plus years in many capacities. He was a manager, foreman, entrepreneur and owner operator of various businesses including Ben May, Inc. and Circle M Trucking. He was a veteran and served during World War II, and was a Shriner and Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of Texas for 60 plus years.
Ben's family and friends were very fortunate to have had such a great mentor, leader, and father. He made the lives of the countless people he touched strive to become better players, workers, family members and ultimately, better people. He had a genuine concern for their development and success, and will truly be missed.
Ben is preceded in death by his son, Roderick "Rod" May.
He is survived by his spouse, Anna May; his children, Ben H. May, Jr and his wife, Kathy May, Montie L. May, Kevin May, Freecia Doss, Jamie Holley and her husband, Johnny Holley, Sr.; his grandchildren, Marek May, Greg May, Johnny Holley, Jr, Michelle Holley, Keith Holley, Michaela Hunt and Everett Hunt.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Marek May, Greg May, Johnny Holley, Jr, Keith Holley, Everett Hunt and Michelle Holley.
In lieu of flowers, Ben requested that all memorials be given to Shriner's Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas.
