Benita Lujan Cobos, 83, passed away on November 16, 2023, in Odessa, TX.
Visitation will be 9:00 am-8:00 pm on November 27, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with a rosary at 6:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on November 28, 2023, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of San Juan Mission Church with Father Ruben Covos officiating. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Benita was born in Tierras Nuevas, Chihuahua to Federico and Teodora Lujan on May 18, 1940. She married Edmundo Cobos on May 9, 1957, in Presidio, Tx. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved to serve the Lord with all her heart. She raised her 6 kids with so much love and passion. Always making sure everyone had everything they wanted and needed. She was a member of the Guadalupanas and always made sure everyone had God in their lives. She enjoyed watching her boys play baseball and then her grandkids play sports. She enjoyed taking care of her roses, flowers, her home and anyone who needed help. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Benita is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers David Eurico Lujan, Claudio Lujan and Ranulfo Lujan, her sisters Oralia Baeza and Arcilia Adame.
Benita is survived by her spouse, Edmundo, her children Lupe Lujan, Belen (Ismael) Hernandez, Miguel (Joann) Cobos, Edmundo Jr., Lidia (Cesar) Valenzuela, and Santiago (Lisa) Cobos, her sister Eufemia Puente, and her brother Arturo Lujan. She had 24 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dimitrius and Dominic Lujan, Joshua Cobos, Andrew Cobos Sr., CJ and Chris Valenzuela. Honorary pallbearers include Dathan Lujan, Thomas Daniel Hernandez, Miguel Cobos Jr., Benjamin Cobos, Simon Cobos, Edmundo Cobos III, Joe Angel Cobos, Cody Valenzuela, Aidan and Rylan Cobos.
The family of Benita Cobos wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Madison Medical-Nurses Alex, Sharon and Lillian, Home Hospice-Nurse Afton, and all the family and friends that have prayed for the family and have shared their special memories of our precious mother.
