Benjamine Ridener

Benjamine Corlun B.C. Benny Ridener, age 85, of Odessa, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 in Odessa.

Benny was born July 15, 1927 in Pershing, Oklahoma to Fred Ridener and Mary Margaret Corbin Ridener. He went to school in Blackburn, Oklahoma. He served as an Apprentice Seaman in the US Navy in 1945 and was honorably discharged. Benny married the love of his life, Alice Marie Cheek on May 26, 1951 in Maysville, Oklahoma. Benny worked as a field service representative in the oilgas compression industry. He retired from Cooper Energy Services in 1995.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Marie Cheek Ridener parents, Fred and Mary Margaret Ridener siblings, Juanita Bell Ridener, and Mary Arlene Rhodes and great grandchildren, Jayden Thomas Ridener and Benjamine George Ellis.

Survivors include his children, Sherry Ellis and husband Jimmy Ellis of Odessa, Robert Bob F. Ridener and wife Pamela of Odessa Grandchildren, Tricia Ridener Plumley and husband Aaron of Amarillo, Christopher A. Ellis of Odessa, Joshua C. Ridener and wife Angela of Pampa, Texas, Amanda R. Ridener of Lubbock, Texas, Casey Ellis and wife Sheena of Ridgecrest, California, Linda Brown of Odessa, and Gus Hagopoylos of Lubbock, Texas great grandchildren, Jordan Ridener, Keegan Plumley, Cameron Plumley, Steven Ellis, Austin Ridener, Jazlyn Ridener, Cian Ellis, Jacob Ridener, and Anabelle Ridener.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Ridener, Steven Ellis, Keegan Ridener, Joshua Ridener, Casey Ellis and Verle Pearce.

Memorials may be given to West Odessa Volunteer Fire Department and Hospice House. The Benny Ridener family wishes to extend our most sincere, heartfelt Thank You to MCH 4C Nursing Staff and Hospice House Staff of Odessa, Texas.
