Bernell Brahn

October 18, 1918 — July 3, 2011

Bernell Brahn passed on Sunday July 3, 2011 in Odessa. A memorial service will be held at Antioch Christian Church Saturday July 9, 2011 at 2pm located at 4040 Maple Ave, Odessa Texas. Dr Jimmy Braswell will preside.

Bernell was born in Bisbee Arizona October 18, 1918 to E.W. Moody and Eva Perkins. She attended Howard Payne University and served as a civilian dental hygienist during WWII at Fort Hood Texas. She married Louis H. Brahn upon his return from service April 21, 1946 in Toms River New Jersey. She and Lou moved to Temple Texas in 1953 where she worked for the local news paper. They moved to Odessa in 1956 as Lou was transferred while working at Sears and Roebuck. Bernell worked as an independent custom seamstress and tailor before reentering the workforce as an accountant and office manager for Dr. Keith Oehischlager from 1975 to 1995.

A loving wife and mother, Bernell enjoyed traveling, cooking and the company of good friends and relatives.

She is survived by her husband of 65 yrs, Louis H. Brahn, two sons Michael of Houston and Mark of Weatherford and sister Dee Rader of San Angelo.
