Things we learned from our Mother
Children are what make the world go round, one person can make a difference, red beans, potatoes, cornbread and a slice of onion is a balanced meal, sautee your celery and onions for your cornbread dressing, and the lady could cook If you dont have what you need then use what you have because it will all come out in the wash, bleach can be used 1000 ways, sheets and pillow cases no longer require ironing, always wear clean underwear in case youre in an accident, never use safety pins on your clothes, a lady always acts like a lady and she was a lady, we believe she invented the potato sandwich, and if you dont have potatoes, an onion sandwich is just as good, ironing is relaxing and can be good for the soul, you should never go to bed without your lipstick on, outward appearances arent the same as whats on the inside and whats on the inside is more important, there is a Heaven and a Hell pick one, give all you have because you cant take it with you, youll be remembered not for what you had but what you did with what you had, feed those that are hungry, clothe those who are naked, help those who are in need, take care of your family the best you can, being poor is no excuse for not being clean, you can never have too many plastic containers, eating too many fresh tomatoes breaks you out, there are other uses for a cast iron skillet other than cooking, God is an amazing God, there is no substitute for a hug and a kiss.
Our mother and grandmother to our children and to their children was a beautiful person inside and out. Of all she created or did in this world she was proudest of her family. Her family was her world. Our hearts ache though we rejoice in knowing her journey here is complete and she is finally Home. We know she has heard the words, Well done my child you are Home at last.
We love you Momma All your children
