Bessie Sides

Bessie Fay Sides, of Odessa Texas, passed away on June 13, 2017 and now is in the hand of our Lord.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM, Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Byron McWilliams of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden.

Bessie Fay Sides was born in a country home close to Corsicana, Texas to Simmie and Myrtle Mae James on February 26, 1931. She married JA Sides on February 18, 1950 in Lovington, New Mexico. She worked as a Shoe Salesman at Barnes Pelletier's for many years until her and husband operated Jays Inspection Services till retirement. She was a loving wife and mother and a member of the First Baptist Church of Odessa. She was involved in a local Bridge Club, an avid painter/arts and crafts, she was on many bowling leagues and she loved going to the lake fishing.

Bessie Fay Sides is preceded in death by her mother and father, two sisters Opel, her twin Essie May, three brothers, Homer, Sammy, Dewayne a son Joe Aaron Sides and granddaughter Brandy Ann Sides.

Bessie Fay Sides is survived by her husband of 67 years, JA Sides, her son, Benny and wife Gina Sides, daughter, Barbara and David Baucum and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
