Bettenelle Sikes

Bettenelle Roberts Sikes, 83, of Odessa, TX, passed away at her family home in Odessa on September 11, 2014.

Funeral services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014. A brief graveside service and burial will follow.

Bette was born in Artesia, NM, on November 5, 1930 to Jon Roy and Vela Jo Roberts. She was a member of the first full class to graduate from the then newly constructed Odessa High School in 1948. She worked alongside her husband Glen in their restaurant business and was also a homemaker.

Bette is preceded in death by her husband Glen in 2001, her parents, brothers Mike Roberts, Jon Roy Roberts, and sisters Maxine Knight, Peggy Roberts, Jo Sikes and Faye Davis.

She is survived by her sister Penny Wiscombe of San Antonio, son Johnnie Sikes and wife Jana, daughters Becky Wiscombe and husband Steve, Karen Pettis and husband David, ten Grandchildren, thirteen Great grandchildren and one on the way, lifelong friend Corine Rives, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association and The Parkinsons Disease Foundation.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Ramanathan, Dr. Amaram, Dr. Kodi, and the nurses of Medical Center Hospital for the loving care they provided.

Bette had a love for life, family, Ajuuas Restaurant, and the Dallas Cowboys. She will be missed
