Betty Carter

Betty Jean Carter, age 71, of San Marcos, TX, entered into eternal rest Thursday, September 18, 2014 in San Marcos.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 68 PM at Sunset Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Hood officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Betty was born in McAllen, TX, raised in SherrylandMcAllen, TX and moved to Odessa, TX in 1984. She worked for Sears Roebuck for 22 years before retiring in 2007.
Betty married her high school sweetheart, Roy Wyatt Carter. They had two children together. Betty loved to read paperback books and go to bingo. She always found the positive in any situation, and was never angry about anything. She was such an easy going person and loved watching the Dallas Cowboys. Betty enjoyed traveling and dining out.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wyatt Carter, her parents, Joe Willis and Otherene Troxell and her sisters, Mary Arrington and Margaret Cast.

She is survived by her children, Roxanna Greathouse and husband Buster, Henry Carter and wife Teresa, sister, Patricia Nichols, grandchildren, Stephen Greathouse and wife Iris, Jason Greathouse and wife Mirza, Monica Russell and husband Aaron, Rebecca Elledge and husband Lance, Justin Carter and Chance Carter, great grandchildren, Lindsey, Shawn , Connor and Gavin Greathouse, Jayden and Jaxson Elledge, Briley and Kaylynn Russell and many nieces and nephews.
