Betty R. White Taylor Caudill joined our Heavenly Father on Monday, November 29, 2010.
She was born April 4, 1923 to H.A. and Ossie White in Elkins, New Mexico. She married Harris Laville Taylor with whom she became the wonderful Mother of Claudette Taylor Stull, Judy Taylor Kendall, and Billie Jean Taylor Fitzgerald. She later married Vernon Caudill of Lovington, New Mexico and shared her Motherhood with many others.
She is preceded in death by her parents, H.A. and Ossie White her daughter, Regina Taylor her brothers Leon, Lineol, and Henry White her sisters, Esther Sayler and Ruth Taylor and her husbands Laville Taylor and Vernon Caudill.
She is survived by her brothers, Dale White and Johnny White, both of Roswell, New Mexico her sisters, Versa Lee Pritchard of Roswell, New Mexico, Doris Fairbanks of Rossville, Kansas, Bobby Jean Gumm of Cocoa, Florida and Margaret Garrett of Crescent City, California her children, Claudette Taylor Stull and husband Pete, Judy Taylor Kendall, and Billie Jean Taylor Fitzgerald and husband Ed her grandchildren, Doyle Garrett, II and wife Valarie, Buddy Garrett and wife Sandra, Rusty Garrett and fiance Darla Rhinhart, Kristi Garrett, Debbie Garrett, Renay Castell and husband Steve, Jeannie Redfrean and husband Ken and Lori Leonard and fiance Chuck Jule seventeen great grand children and eight great great grand children.
Betty was raised around Dexter, New Mexico on a farm and attended school there. She married Laville Taylor in 1940 in Roswell, New Mexico and after WW11, she moved to Odessa, Texas around 1947. In 1979, Betty moved to Graham, Texas where she resided for ten years. In 1989, she moved back to Odessa.
Betty married Vernon Caudill in 1992 and moved to Lovington, New Mexico. Upon the death of Vernon, she moved back to Odessa and lived until her death. Betty was a long time member of Northside Baptist Church. She was a caregiver to her parents and her husbands parents and other family members as well. Her favorite hobby was fishing and if not fishing she was doing crafts and quilting. Betty spent many hours in Lovington, New Mexico studying the Bible with her nieces. When her sister Ruth and her husband Wilson said Lets go. she packed her bag and away they went in the motor home.
Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Clydell Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Garrett, Rusty Garrett, Cory Garrett, Cody Garrett, Jimmy Mac Garrett, Blanton Garrett, Doyle W. Garrett, II and David Brown, Jr.
The family requests memorials be directed to Cooks Children Hospital or to Home Hospice.
