Betty Lowery

Betty J. Lowery, age 80, of Odessa, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 in Odessa, Texas.

She was born August 19, 1931, in Rutledge, Tennessee to Gladis McGenis and Hershel Baxter Turpin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred Lowery and son Fred Lowery, Jr.

Survivors include daughter, Gail Norris and brother, Ray Turpin of Talbott, Tennessee brother, Junior Turpin of Rutledge, Tennessee grandchildren, Mary and James Kirby of Odessa, Texas and great granddaughters, Paige and Teri Kirby also of Odessa, Texas.

Betty J. Lowery worked for Best Cleaners for twenty plus years until her retirement in May 2011.

She was a very active member of Beacon Baptist Church an she enjoyed Brother Mark Kirbys preaching.

Our family would like to thank Debra Harris and the Hospice House for the love and compassionate care that was given to our mother.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, September 4, 2011 from 5:00 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 6801 E. Highway 80, Odessa, Texas 79761 with Pastor Mark Kirby officiating.
