Betty Petree

On April 8, 2011 Friday, Betty Jo Petree, 77 took the hand of her Lord and Savior and passed through the gates of heaven at Home Hospice, Odessa, TX. She was born November 4, 1933 in Vivian, LA to Gordon L. Williams and Inez Fulmer Williams.

She and her family moved to Odessa and she graduated from Odessa High School in 1951. She married Louis Elliot in July of 1952 and from this union three children were born. She later married Bob Petree in December 1976 and he preceded her in death in April 2001. Through out her lifetime she enjoyed her recreational hobbies which included extensive traveling, fishing, cooking for her family, crocheting and sewing and loved to play games.

She is survived by her children, Wayne Elliot and wife Jackie of Brownwood, TX, Cindy Dodson and husband Jim of Odessa, Charla Crawford and husband Mike of Odessa grandchildren, Christi and Cody Russell and Michael, Justin and Ashley Crawford greatgrandchildren, Peyton Haigood, Jaxon Fields, and Kyler Crawford sister, Dorthy Forbus of Lewisville, TX.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Elliot, Jim Dodson, Cody Russell, Mike Crawford, Michael Crawford and Justin Crawford.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hospice House for their caring and compassion during her stay as well as Buena Vida Nursing for the loving care they gave our mother in her latter years.

Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 68:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am with Mike Courtney officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
