Betty Pierce

Betty Jo Pierce, 89 of San Antonio, Texas, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022, in San Antonio.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 23, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Gardens beside her loving husband.  Pastor David Rivera will officiate.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvis Lee Pierce; her mother and father, Floyd Houck, and Tiny Hart; her brothers, J.Y. Houck, and Hubert Houck; and her only sister, Gertrude Houck.

Betty was born January 16, 1933, in Magnolia Arkansas.  She married in 1954 and soon settled in Odessa Texas.  In 2001, she joined her daughter in San Antonio, Texas, and remained there till her death.

Betty loved watching old movies especially John Wayne.  She liked to embroidery and gave gifts of her pillowcases to anyone who would take them.  Those that knew her, knew she was a friend.

She will be missed. We all thought she would outlive us all.

Betty is survived by her 6 children, Gail Meadows of San Antonio, TX, Rose Sprouse of Pineville, LA, Pauline (Jeannie) VanDyke of Odessa, Tx, James Pierce of Odessa, TX, Lloyd Pierce of San Antonio, TX, Floyd Pierce of Houston, TX; 9 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
