Betty Jean Robison, 82, of Odessa, Texas, passed away to Heaven on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from Hospice House in Odessa. As a young lady, greatly influenced by her grandmother, Mama, she gave her life to Jesus Christ and served Him every way she could. She was a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 6:008:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in the Sunset Funeral Home chapel, with Dr. David Miller and Rev. Larry Weaver officiating.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Betty was born in Athens, Texas to Lucy and George Weaver on November 18, 1930. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1947 and after convincing her parents for permission, she married her soul mate, the love of her life, Claude Robison, on June 14, 1947, in Penwell, Texas. His cousin, Herbert McCarty, and her best friend, Dorothy Jones, joined them for a simple, double wedding. They were happily married for 58 years. She worked in various offices through the years, but retired from Ector County Courthouse, where she worked in the office of Justice of Peace R.G. Hungerford. She enjoyed being a housewife, celebrating holidays with her family and friends, teaching childrens Sunday school, and traveling with her husband.
She is preceded in death by her parents her husband two sons, Mike and Melvin Robison two brothers, Doyle and Wendell Weaver and one granddaughter, Kimberly Robison Vargas.
She is survived by daughter, Susan and Duane Talley of Odessa brother, Larry and Anita Weaver of Jacksonville, Florida sisterinlaw, Carol Weaver daughterinlaw, Karen Robison grandchildren, Lori and James Whitmire of Wink, Richard and Kim Robison of Odessa, Scott and Misty Robison of Snyder, Philip Talley and Ashley Browning of Midland, Andrew Talley and Tess Thompson of Odessa, Jennifer and Migel Pinilla of Fairfax, Virginia, Jonathan Talley and Sarah Nelson of Austin, and Bethany and Craig Calloway of Lavon, Texas fourteen great grandchildren, Erin, Ryan and Sarah Whitmire, Rebecca and Nathan Robison, Jordyn Bailee, Chayse and Brody Robison, Brooklyn Browning and Cameron Talley, Morgan Talley, Greyson and Hunter Calloway, and Lucas Pinilla three greatgreat grandchildren, Abreyelle, Cambry and Brylan Pruitt.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Memorials may be given to the Odessa Hospice House, Crescent Park Baptist Church, or Meals on Wheels.
Bettys family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Jayaram Naidu, Irene Tinney, nurses and staff of Naidu Clinic Dr. John Halcomb 5th floor of ORMC Dr. Ortega and nurses and staff of Select Specialty Hospital of Midland Home Health caregivers from Nurses Unlimited, Encompass and Interim Health Care and especially to Ms. Stormy Daniels who took kind care of her at home.
