Betty Tatum

Our Mom, Betty Tatum, passed away on June 5, 2014, in Odessa, Texas. She was born November 23, 1924, in Sweetwater, Texas.

The graveside service is Saturday, June 7th, at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Ivy Shelton officiating.

Mom resided at Emeritus at Sherwood Place in Odessa since November 2011. She enjoyed her life with the Emeritus staff and residents she was the social butterfly of Emeritus.

Mom was a longtime member of Sherwood Baptist Church. Mom worked for the Ector County Sheriff, Ector County District Clerk, and Justice of the Peace she retired in 1989.
Mom married our Dad, W.A. Tatum, on January 20, 1943. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1968. They have three children: Pat Taylor Judy Morrell and husband, James and Donald Tatum and wife, Nancy. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Jeffie Harris two sisters, Ernestine Tomlin and Jean Black and one brother, David Harris.

Left to cherish her memory are five grandchildren, Wesley Morrell and wife, JJ, and Dana Taylor of Odessa and Michelle Kahler and husband, Kevin, Ashley Cox and husband, Danner, and Amy Tatum of Bartlesville, Oklahoma four greatgrandchildren, Amanda Mirano and husband, Mike, of Odessa and Jordyn Kahler, Regan Cox, and Triton Cox of Bartlesville one greatgreatgrandchild, Alaine Mirano of Odessa and one sister, Tootsie Hackfeld and husband, Alvin, of Humble, Texas. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
