Beulah Huckabee

Beulah May Huckabee, age 100 passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in Odessa.

She was born May 1, 1910 in Mabank, Texas to William Henry Foster and Lovie Maybell Powell. She was raised in Floyd County and married Otis Hoyt Huckabee on September 1, 1928 in Floyd County. After twenty years of farming, she moved to Lubbock for a short time, where she owned a neighborhood grocery store. After selling the store, she moved to Route 7, Dublin and farmed for several years. Later, she moved to Weatherford, Texas and bought another neighborhood grocery store. She worked there until her health caused her to close. She moved to Odessa and lived with her daughter, Nelda in 1991.

Survivors include her daughters, Nelda Bratton and Nita Miles her sons, Gerald Huckabee, and W.A. Huckabee her sister, Estelle Price eleven grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, June 12, 2010 at East Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas.
