Bf Clark

BF "Papaw" Clark, 94, of Odessa, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 in Midland.

BF was born in DeKalb, TX to Benjamin and Mary Ann Clark on September 20, 1924. At the age of 19 he left the family farm to join the Army and serve in WWII. After his time in the Army he returned home where he met and later married Miley Marie Roberts. The couple moved to Odessa in 1947 in hopes of a better opportunity for their new family. He worked for Furr's Food, when it was a local grocer before it grew to become Furr's Supermarket. He later went to work for Pioneer Natural Gas, later known as Energas, and Atmos Energy, where he retired after 36 years of service. He was an ordained Baptist minister and served at Westside Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist for many years. He was a member of the Odessa Downtown Lions Club. He had a "green thumb" and always had large gardens, and was especially known for his rose gardens and tomatoes. He and his wife spent numerous hours volunteering at Ratliff stadium working concessions. A husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend who will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.

BF is preceded in death by his parents; wife Miley; infant son Tommy Wayne Clark; son Gary Max Clark; four brothers and five sisters.

BF is survived by his son G.A. Clark of Midland, TX; granddaughter Tammy Wyatt of Lamesa, TX; grandson Sparky Clark and wife Dina of Midland, TX; great-grandchildren: Melissa Schuepbach and husband Matthew of Abilene, TX, Jonathan Wyatt and wife Jennifer of Aledo, TX, Kati Brandon and husband Luke of Bedford, TX, Hailey and Hannah Clark of Midland, TX; great-great-grandchildren: Kenna and Carleigh Schuepbach of Abilene, TX, Kyle, Kayla and Konner Scharlow of Aledo, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be 5:00PM to 7:00PM Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
