Billie Jim Adkins Jones:
Odessa Billie Adkins Jones, age 80, passed away May 16, 2010 at Buena Vida nursing facility. She was born October 21, 1929, in Lamesa, Texas to James and Bessie Webb. Billie grew up and went to school in Rule, Texas.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., May 17, 2010 at the chapel of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with the Reverend Paul and Brenda Clark officiating. Burial will be at Crane Cemetery following funeral service.

Billie married Robert Adkins, February 7, 1947. They farmed for a few years in Crosbyton and Ralls, Texas area. Later, he went to work for El Paso Natural Gas Co. Billie being a wife and homemaker went with him and their two boys as they moved to many different locations across New Mexico and Texas. They finally settled in Crane, Texas in 1965. While in Crane, Robert and Billie built two car washes and operated the business together. Robert passed away in September 1996 and Billie was alone until she met Wendell Jones. They became close and married in December 2002. Wendell passed away in July 2007. Her health started to decline and the following year lost her oldest son, Phil, to cancer, in June 2008. She moved to Buena Vida nursing facility in April 2009. Her health continued to decline. She became very tired and weary from fighting a long and hard illness. On Sunday, May 16, 2010, she went to be with her Lord and Savior.

She was a Baptist and loved God. She read her Bible daily. She loved country music and loved to travel to Nashville to visit Graceland and many other country musical attractions. She even cut a record back in the 70s.

Billie is survived by one son. Mark Adkins and wife Judy of Odessa, Texas. Daughter in Law, Lorna Adkins, of Odessa, Texas. Grandchildren, Jonna Adkins of San Antonio. Michael Adkins and wife Stacey of Whitewater, Colorado. Tracey Adkins of Odessa, Texas. Mark Sanders of San Angelo, Texas. Kim Martin and husband John of San Angelo. Five Great Grandchildren, and one Great Great Grandchild. Sisters, Mary Pyland and Hazel Hindman of Abilene, Texas. Joan Billings and husband Don of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Adkins in 1996. Also Wendell Jones in 2007. son Phil Adkins in 2008. Great Great Grandson Matthew in 2005. Sisters Vera Ratliff, Creola Cone, Emma Glover, Lavern Lee. Brothers: J.E. Webb, Cleo Webb, Norman Webb, and Davis Webb.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Buena Vida nursing facility, along with Home Hospice of Odessa, Texas for all their loving care during Billies illness. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Buena Vida nursing facility or Home Hospice of Odessa .
