Bill Barnhill, age 95, left this earth for his eternal home on February 8, 2022.
Bill was born on May 31, 1926, in Cisco, TX. He attended school and played football for the Cisco Loboes. He left school early to proudly serve in the United States Navy during WWII. He later completed his GED to finalize his high school education. After returning from the Navy, he moved to Odessa, TX, where he met the love of his life, Clydene Barnhill. They married in 1949 and completed their family in 1953 with the birth of their only child, Janice. Bill and Clydene were married for 61 years until her death in 2011.
Bill spent most of his career in oilfield related work. He was a contract oil lease operator for many years before purchasing Tillery and Parks Company. After selling the company, he spent the last of his working years traveling to various auctions to sell and purchase oil field equipment.
Bill was an avid MOJO FAN. He purchased his football season tickets the year that Permian High School opened. He and Janice booked many miles of travel to follow the Permian Panthers. MOJO FOOTBALL was a bond they shared until his death. One of the most precious honors he ever received was being presented the GENE McCANLIES SPECIAL FAN AWARD. This award comes from the Permian Football Coaching Staff and receiving it from Coach Blake Feldt was a memory he greatly cherished.
Shortly after the death of his wife, Bill became a member of Northside Baptist Church, where he worshiped until his health began to fail. He loved Pastor Clydel Chapman and his Northside family.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Chester Barnhill; wife, Clydene Barnhill; in-laws, Clyde and Ruth Scott; brothers-in-law, Charles Scott, and Leroy Scott; sister-in-law, June Trout; and step-grandson, Kevin Murrell.
