Billy Wayne Neves, age 73 of Odessa, passed away Sunday February 5, 2012 in Odessa.
Bill was born in Roby, Texas to Albert and Christine Neves on March 13, 1938.
Bill went to school in Roby and Levelland, Texas. He married the love of his life, Latrice Robertson, on June 22, 1958 in Levelland, Texas at her parents house.
He honorably served in the Air Force from 19561959. He was a loyal employee for 39 years at Eckel Manufacturing, retiring with distinction as the vice president of the company on April 1, 2005. He brought years of joy and memories to people all over with his annual Christmas display at his house for over 30 years.
He was a motorcycle and antique car enthusiast, and a collector of all. He was an animal lover, especially of horses and dogs. He was an inventor and a selftaught engineer. He was a family man who lived for his kids, grand kids, and to adore his wife of 53 years. He loved life.
Preceded in death by his father, Albert Eugene Neves mother, Mildred Christine Rowland sister and brotherinlaw, Betty Jean and JB Lauderdale and brotherinlaw, Don Pelfrey.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Latrice Neves of Odessa, TX daughter and soninlaw, Lisa and Dwayne West of Odessa, TX son and daughterinlaw, Fred and Stacy Neves of Cedar Park, TX son and daughterinlaw, Gene and Melinda Neves of Houston, TX son, Tony Neves of South Padre Island, TX son and daughterinlaw, Joe and Rich Neves of Cedar Park, TX sister, Doris Pelfrey of Pearland, TX brotherinlaw, Louis Allen Robertson and his wife, Patrica Robertson granddaughter, Amy Stoker and fianc Stephen Derek Adams of Odessa, TX granddaughter, Nichole Neves of Fort Worth, TX grandson, Austin Stoker and fianc Joni McKinney of Odessa, TX grandson, Ethan Neves of Midland, TX granddaughter, Kandace Neves and Brian Robinson of Cedar Park, TX granddaughter, Brooke Neves of Cedar Park, TX granddaughter, Elyse Neves of Houston, TX and great grandson, Ares Solomon Neves of Midland, TX.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home from 6:00 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
