Billy Fred Watkins

Bill Fred Watkins peacefully passed away and left this earth on October 20th, 2024. Billy was 89 years old, and almost made it to his 90th birthday. He was born in Brady, TX on October 27th, 1934. Billy was a veteran serving in the U.S army during the Korean War from 1955-1956. Through the good and the bad, Billy always took his time to make sure his family was well taken care of. He loved his family, and they loved him.

 Preceding him in death were his mother, Norma W. Watkins; father, Barney F. Watkins; sisters, Fran Holcomb, Joann Combest, Ruth Watkins and Linda Watkins; and his brothers, Kenneth Watkins and Frederick Carroll Watkins. 

Those left behind to cherish and remember his memory are his wife, Iralda Watkins of 53 years; his sons, William M. Watkins and Billy Jr. Watkins; his daughters, Wanda Velasquez and Tulia Watkins; his granddaughters, Zoe Watkins, Gabriella S. Darvischi-Watkins, and great granddaughter, Aria J. Velasquez; his grandsons, Christopher Velasquez, and his wife Tracy Velasquez, Stephen Velasquez, Kevin Velasquez, and Jonah D. Darvischi-Watkins.

 The family will be holding a memorial service to honor Billy on November 16th, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

 For those unable to attend, Sunset will also be showing a live stream of the service. A special thank you to Veteran Affairs for providing care and aid for Billy in his final days. To Home Hospice for providing comfort and peace for Billy and the family as well, Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX, and their amazing staff of Doctors and Nurses who worked around the clock to help maintain his comfort. Our Papito Frito was able to go in peace and no longer in pain. We love you forever and always.
