Bobby Burns

Bobby Burns, age 75, of Odessa, TX, passed away on August 19, 2017 in Odessa.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Johnny Touchstone officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Bobby was born on February 14, 1942 to Robert (Papa) Lee Burns and Lucille (Nanny) Elrod Burns in Big Spring, TX. He attended school at Odessa High School. Bobby married Barbara Taylor Burns on December 30, 1966 in Odessa, TX. He worked as a salesman for Trico Industries for many years. He was a Marine Reserve. Bobby was a Christian and loved reading from his bible. He also enjoyed westerns, whether it was on TV or in a book.

Bobby is preceded in death by his daughter, Nikki Burns; mother, Lucille (Nanny) Burns; father, Robert (Papa) Burns and sister, Wanda Burleson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Burns; his children, Lisa Covington and husband John and Norman Burns; grandchildren, Danielle Decker and husband, Vince, Ashley Minear and husband, Devin, Clarissa Burns and Marquiz Burns; great grandchildren, Nathan, Kenzie, Lane, Jaxon and Willow.

Pallbearers will be: Devin Minear, Vince Decker, Marquiz Burns, Justin Walker, Billy Walker and Michael Clancey.

The family of Bobby Burns wish to extend our sincere thanks to Odessa Regional Medical Center, Medical Center Hospital, Buena Vida Nursing Center and Star Hospice.

Memorials may be given in Bobby's name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
