Brandon Schlitz

Brandon John Schlitz, 11, of Odessa, peacefully slipped into the arms of Jesus Saturday, March 20, 2010 after complications from surgery at Covenant Childrens Hospital in Lubbock, Texas.

He was born December 31, 1998 in Odessa to John Schlitz and Margarita Diaz. Brandon was a sports fan, loving to watch football and basketball, enjoying the fast pace of the game. He loved music and reading and could always be counted on for a smile and a laugh. Brandon was a little piece of heaven every day of his life to those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his parents, John Schlitz and Margarita Diaz, of Odessa sisters Brianna Schlitz and Tasha Vasquez, brothers, Luke Schlitz and Jonathan Alford his foster parents, Jack and Jeri Kounce of Midland, and their children, Anthony, Cody, Eric, Lance, John, David, Karen and Peggie grandparents, Ramona Gomez, Joan Schlitz, and Bill Duke along with many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Mark and grandfather Moses Gomez and Grandfather Schlitz.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for 6:00 to 8:00 Pm Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 PM Wednesday March 24, 2010
in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dave Atkins officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dr. Sari Nabulsi, Ronnie Arnett, David Pavlicek and Lance Kounce. A reception will be held at Sherwood Community Building following the service.
